Gilmer County Genealogical Society, Inc. Publications

The Gilmer County Genealogical Society, Inc. actually began with the publication of its first book Heritage of Gilmer County 1932-1996, which, unfortunately, is unavailable and no longer in print. After the publication of the book, the editors decided to form The Gilmer County Genealogical Society, Inc. This organization has continued to publish books since its inception, including the collections Poetry from the Mountains and Days Gone By; Reflections on Mountain Heritage;  Faces of Our Ancestors: First Families of Gilmer County, Georgia; and The Evolution of Ellijay, Georgia: 1921-2021, A Century of Change. Two of our publications are no longer in print but are available for purchase in digital format with a choice of either compact discs or flash drives. These books are A Revenuer’s Diary and Family Legends of Gilmer County. Three of four of our books that are still in print are now discounted while supplies last.

All books may be purchased at scheduled meetings, at Walls of Books at 96 Craig Street in East Ellijay, Georgia, and via mail. A mail order form for our complete catalogue of published books may be found by clicking here.
