First Families of Gilmer County, Georgia
 <\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The First Families of Gilmer County, Georgia organization honors the pioneers who were settled in Gilmer County in 1840 or earlier, and recognizes their qualifying descendants as members.  We encourage anyone who has directly descended from early censuses to apply and become a member.  This organization is facilitated through the GCGSI\u2019s First Families Committee with Patricia Hyatt Henson as its current committee chairperson.  Applicants that qualify as members of First Families of Gilmer County, Georgia will receive a special First Families pin, a certificate suitable for framing, and two years of membership in the Gilmer County Genealogical Society, Inc.  Applicants and members are not required to reside in Gilmer County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
